About Michael Tijerina
I’m Michael Tijerina, a lifelong Texan, organizer, and advocate running to serve as your State Democratic Executive Committee (SDEC) Member for Congressional District 4.
I grew up in a union household—my father, a former teacher turned union leader with TSTA and NEA, and my mother, a pharmacist and union steward—where I learned early on the value of standing up for working families and building power through community.
From organizing with the Dallas County Young Democrats to leading fundraising, communications, and events for the Collin County Democratic Party, I’ve spent years doing the work to grow our movement, strengthen our message, and deliver results.
I’m running to be a strong, progressive voice for CD4—focused on better communication, real representation, and making sure no community is left behind.
